Tufted Titmouse Sound

The Tufted Titmouse’s latin name is Baeolophus bicolor. It is a small songbird from North America. A Tufted Titmouse’s preferred habitat is woodlands, swamp, river basins, and city parks. They breed from March to May. The Tufted Titmouse range can be seen during their migration, which extends down the Atlantic coast from middle New England and as far south as southern Florida. Their population status is of least concern.

The Tufted Titmouse bird can be found at Coal Creek Farm year round. Their diet consists of insects, snails, seeds, berries, acorns, and beech nuts. The lifespan of the tufted Titmouse is approximately 2.1 years, though it can live for more than 10 years. A Tufted Titmouse call (also called a Tufted Titmouse sound or Tufted Titmouse song) is nasally and mechanical sounding. A scratchy, chickadee-like, tsee-day-day-day is the most common sound. If a Tufted Titmouse female believes her Tufted Titmouse nest may be in danger, she will make a harsh distress call that warns other titmice of the danger, while also protecting herself and her baby Tufted Titmouse.
